Panchkarma
पंचकर्मा

Pancha (Five) karmaa (Procedures) is the key procedure in Ayurveda. It consists of seven treatments: Snehanaa (oil application), Swedanaa (sweating), Vamana (vomiting), Virechanaa (purgation), Basti (enema), Nasyaa (nasal therapy), and Raktamokshanaa (blood cleansing). It aims to cleanse toxins, balance negative energies (doshas), and improve overall health by enhancing digestion, immunity, and mental clarity. It is recommended to take this treatment every 2-3 months for the contemporary urban lifestyle.

Snehanaa

Snehanaa involves the application of medicated oils. It aims to soften tissues, reduce stiffness, and detoxification.

Swedanaa

Swedanaa involves inducing sweat or perspiration through steam or herbal steam baths. It aims to open the channels of the body, eliminate toxins, improve circulation and promote relaxation.

Vamanaa

In Vamanaa controlled vomiting is induced to expel excess toxins from the upper digestive tract. This treatment aims to balance Kapha dosha and improve digestion.

Virechanaa

Virechanaa uses therapeutic purgation to remove Pitta dosha through the lower gastrointestinal tract. It helps in improving digestion and cleansing the liver.

Basti

Basti involves the administration of medicated enemas to cleanse the colon. This procedure balances the Vata dosha, relieves constipation and promotes detoxification.

Nasyaa

Nasyaa involves the administration of herbal oils, and extracts through the nasal passage. It enhances breathing and improves conditions such as headaches, migraines, asthma, sinusitis, and neurological disorders.

Raktamokshanaa

Raktamokshanaa is the controlled removal of small quantities of blood to eliminate toxins that have accumulated in the blood. It is used to treat skin disorders, hypertension, and issues related to the circulatory system.
