In naturopathy, "shatkarmaa" (also spelled as "shhatkriya") refers to six cleansing techniques used for detoxifying and purifying the body. These practices are believed to help maintain balance and promote overall health and enhance spiritual growth.

1. Neti Kriyaa नेती क्रिया

Neti Kriya involves nasal cavity cleansing and uses saline solution to rinse nasal passages. The treatment clears sinuses, eases headaches, tones optic nerves, and boosts eyesight. It is also beneficial in treating cold, sinusitis and flu.

2. Basti Kriyaa बस्ति क्रिया

Basti Kriyaa involves colon cleansing, which helps cure around 80% of bacterial diseases. It also treats issues like constipation, gastric trouble, and bloating, and improves the digestive system and eliminate toxins.

3. Kapalbhati कपालभाती

Also known as the "Breath of Fire," the term "kapalabhati" originated from Sanskrit, combining "kapal" for 'skull' and "bhati" for ‘illuminating'. This technique improves the functioning of the respiratory system and helps treat Dyspnoea.

4. Dhauti Kriyaa धौती क्रिया

The primary purpose of this technique is to cleanse the entire digestive tract thoroughly. This gut cleansing treatment is very beneficial for patients suffering from hyper-acidity.

5. Nauli Kriyaa नौली क्रिया

Nauli stimulates digestive organs, especially the small intestine, through therapeutic abdominal movements. It helps improve digestion and removes toxins.

6. Trataka Karmaa त्राटका कर्म

This is a yogic purification cum tantric meditation which involves concentrated gazing, usually at a fixed point or candle flame. The technique cleanses eyes, improves cognitive function, soothes dry eyes, and improves memory and concentration power.
